Once a year, industry titans and enthusiasts from around the world gather at the Las Vegas convention center for the largest automotive aftermarket convention on earth, SEMA. For four days, the latest and greatest technologies and innovations in the automotive industry are put on display for all to see. SEMA 2016 marks our third tour as exhibitors on the convention floor, growing our company and product lineup with each passing year. In 2016, we were situated in the central hall, arguably the busiest and most prominent part of SEMA. We worked hard to ensure our booth was captivating, modern and immersive, with the very best of our performance braking products out on display.
Our team of engineers, technicians and sales personnel were on hand the entire week of SEMA. We answered questions and presented our products to any performance-loving attendee, cementing our old relationships and creating new connections along the way. Being one of the younger companies in the market, we definitely made an impact at SEMA this year; we feel certain that everyone who visited our booth was impressed by our offerings and by what we bring to the market.
The Sparta team was on hand to present the quality and capabilities of our staple Triton and Saturn calipers, with various sizes and models available to display our signature finishes. We also exhibited the features of our Pegasus rotors and our custom Goodridge brake lines, all of which are key components of our specialty brake kits. We were also excited to debut some of our newest products at SEMA 2016, including our Triton R calipers.
Triton R is the next evolution of our existing Triton caliper, featuring our signature cold forged aluminum alloy construction and feature set, but with a 15% reduction in weight. We took our existing line of calipers and reengineered a more seamless design, decreasing unsprung weight while creating a caliper that is just as rigid, all while taking on a new and improved design. Introduced along with the Triton R is a new rotor slot pattern that refines upon our signature S-grooves.
Our lineup of new GP-1 rotors were also on display in our SEMA booth. GP-1 is an OEM replacement rotor featuring our S-groove slot patterns made here in the USA and is perfect for those looking to enhance their driving experience in a street car. Currently, GP-1 rotors are available for BMW models, but we’ll are expanding our lineup to cover many more makes and models.
Also making their big debut at SEMA 2016 is our brand new line of brake pad offerings. Development and testing of the friction compounds that will make up our lineup is currently underway. We aim to have several series of pads, each dedicated to a specific from of driving. These include street performance and endurance pads featuring enhanced wear characteristics, as well as pads suited for intense wheel-to-wheel racing.
We are certain our products left a good impression on the SEMA audience and were pleased that many in the industry agreed, awarding us a SEMA 2017 Global Media Award. This was determined by a panel of industry judges in recognition of the international market appeal of our products.
However, our booth wasn’t the only way we grabbed people’s attention at SEMA. Our dealers, teams, and drivers all partnered up with us to exhibit their Sparta Evolution BBK-equipped rides throughout the convention hall.
Dennis Lee brought out his two RWB Porsche 993s, both fitted with a full front and rear set of Triton BBKs. These cars were on display at the front entrance of the Las Vegas convention center and never ceased to attract a crowd. There were many who had never been able to get so close to a RWB before, so we decided to maximize the experience!
Behind the RWB’s was a train of BMWs, starting with the Austin Yellow ACS4 M4 by European Auto Source, decked out in a complete aero package from AC Schnitzer. Fitted with our Tritons in Stealth Grey, this M4 really showed how exceptional a street-built F82 can be.
For those who are serious about motorsports, we had one of Strom Motorsports’ purpose built track-ready M4s on display at the SEMA gates along with Formula D champion Mike Essa’s time attack Z4 to round out our train of BMWs.
Fei Long Tran’s turbocharged FRS was also at the show just outside the entrance to the south hall, showing our Signature Blue Triton calipers in all their glory.
Our brakes also made it onto BASF’s Rocket Bunny kitted R35 GTR, which was unveiled during the show and feature their color of the year: Reflexion Nebula. Our BBK for the R35 is one of the largest kits we offer and they looked absolutely stunning behind its wide fenders and HRE wheels. Needless to say, this car proved magnetic at drawing in the crowd.
Intensifying the R35 GTR action, Wössner Pistons showcased their tuned version of Godzilla which also featured our giant set of Triton BBK’s. With as much power as Wössner put into the car, you will definitely prefer coming to a stop with our brakes versus what was made at the factory.
In the north hall, Zachary Wingfield of Zwingfilms debuted his drift-built LS powered E36 convertible at SEMA, featuring a full set of Triton BBK set on all four corners.
We also had a presence at the AAPEX show, with the Strom Motorsports endurance racing M4 representing our brand in the Liqui-Moly booth.
We have no doubt that 2016 was our biggest and most successful SEMA to date! It was the perfect opportunity to add many new products to our lineup as well as introduce several new concepts that we plan to further develop in 2017. We received more recognition and endorsements from the industry than ever before and we look forward to building new partnerships through which to offer unique innovations in the automotive industry.
We would like to thank SEMA for giving us the space and opportunity to display our cars and products for the third year running. We’d also like to express our gratitude to our distributors, teams, drivers, partners, customers and followers like you for giving us your time and feedback which make us better each year. 2017 is going to be a very exciting year for us and we could not have done it without you!
See you at SEMA 2017!
